PAPUA - In a heartwarming display of care and service, the Infantry Battalion Task Force Para Raider 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, under the HABEMA Operational Command, provided free medical services to the residents of Aifam Village, Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
The humanitarian mission aimed to address critical challenges faced by residents in accessing healthcare services. As part of the TNI’s commitment to safeguarding the RI-PNG border while empowering local communities, this initiative brought immediate relief and valuable health education to the people of Aifam.

The day began with visible excitement as villagers, young and old, eagerly gathered to receive medical check-ups, treatments, and personalized care from the dedicated Satgas Yonif 501 medical team. Smiles and gratitude filled the atmosphere as residents were not only treated for their ailments but also given essential lessons on preventive healthcare—ranging from personal hygiene, disease prevention, to maintaining a nutritious diet.
“This program is not just about treating illnesses but empowering residents to prioritize their health before problems arise, ” said Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Yoga Prasetyo, Commander of Satgas Yonif 501 Kostrad. “Health is a foundation for a prosperous community, and we are here to lend a helping hand where it’s needed most.”
For many residents, especially those with limited access to health centers or clinics, the free medical services were a lifeline. Mr. Junialis, Head of Aifam Village, shared his heartfelt gratitude: “This service has been incredibly helpful. Many of us cannot afford to travel to the city for treatment, so having the TNI here to care for us means so much. The community is truly thankful for Satgas Yonif 501’s kindness and initiative.”
